I’m sure most people have heard about Michael Glatze, a gay-rights leader, coming out as straight recently. But maybe you haven’t read his story on WorldNetDaily, he talks about working for magazines aimed at young gay Americans, the 16 years of his life he spent as a gay man, and how forming a relationship with God showed him the truth.
On speaking out on the gay-rights movement he says:

If I could take back some of the things I said, I would. Now I know that homosexuality is lust and pornography wrapped into one. I’ll never let anybody try to convince me otherwise, no matter how slick their tongues or how sad their story. I have seen it. I know the truth.

Full article here, it’s worth the read, really.

In lighter news, a dozen 7-Elevens across the nation have been converted to Kwik-E-Marts to promote The Simpsons Movie. dhepnar has some nice pictures from the one in Canada on Flickr, I especially like the “Thank you for loitering…” sign. A list of the altered stores can be found here. I really want to go to one, but the closest is 6 hours away. They are supposed to have special snack foods and Squishees (which I’m sure is just a regular ol’ Slurpee in a different cup, unfortunately) at all 7-Eleven locations though. Actually, I don’t even know where the nearest 7-Eleven is, I can’t even find one near me on the locator on the site.

Edit: If you go here, this flickr user has collected links to photo sets from all the different Kwik-E-Marts. And there is also a Kwik-E-Mart group on Flickr (though it only has 24 members).

KIT-Keep In Touch

43things, fotos, friends, internets, relationships, writing 26 June 2007 | 0 Comments

3191 is a visual blog project by two friends who live 3,191 miles apart. One in Portland, Oregon, the other in Portland, Maine. Every morning (well, Monday through Friday), they take and send a photo to each other. They don’t talk about the photos beforehand, which is hard to believe on some of the pairings because of how well they relate to each other. I think this is a wonderful and creative way to share a part of your life with someone far away.

I found 3191 through The Petri Project, which is what I would call (and they should too) a companion blog to 43things. Anyone on 43things should check out The Petri Project, each post is based on one of the goals people have on 43things and gives some great ideas/advice on completing them.

This post has kind of sounded like a commercial, oh well. Google Reader really needs a “blog this” function.

Confusion

relationships 13 February 2007 | 0 Comments

This weekend my old friend Jeremy

Jeremy

from around O-town was in town, I hadn’t seen him in a few years. We hung out, he had also brought his friend Josh
Josh

with him, whom I had met once before. We all went out to the beach and saw a movie and joked around, that sort of stuff.

I don’t want to say too much because I don’t know who might read this, but I’m now very confused in a ‘friendlationship’ sort of way with Josh, or Shua as I like to call him. Yeah, so there’s something going on there, but I’m not even sure if I like him. I’ve never even carried on a serious conversation with the guy, but he seems nice and he’s definitely not bad looking. But then again there’s this other guy, lets call him Peter (no that’s not his real name), who I would really like to get to know better and I think might be more my type.

This is a very unusual situation for me and I feel very stupid.

Lately

I’m loving VIRB°. Wish some more people would join though, I have 2 invites left if anyone wants. I would also say I’m loving Google Reader if it hadn’t just refused to load a minute ago.

I was going to write an article for the paper on myspace spreading spyware and viruses, but I think it’s turning into something bigger. It’s tentatively titled Tom is NOT My Friend – The Dark Side of Myspace, I like to over-dramatize it. More on that later.

Today I got an email from my friend Shanna telling me she’s getting married. I’m very happy for her, of course, but I can’t help but feel sad for myself. I just feel like all of my friends are getting married and having kids while I’m not even dating anyone.

I have somehow fell in love with The Polyphonic Spree, I never saw that coming. Especially loving the song Soldier Girl. Also loving Tom’s Album, an album solely comprised of cover versions of Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner.”

Hmmm……

He wasn’t in class today, and his name wasn’t called in the roll (though he wasn’t on the roll last class either). Would he drop the class just because I was in it? I don’t get it really. I still saw him, but I don’t think he saw me. Maybe I still have feelings for him, I don’t want to though. I don’t want anything from him, I just thought he would have at least said hi, it’s weird. I hope he’s doing okay.

In the ask the experts section of USA Weekend there was a question or “fear” about artificial sweeteners causing headaches, ADHD, and cancer. Headaches and cancer I knew about, ADHD I did not. I used to eat packs of Sweet ‘n Low by themselves when I was younger…

I was going to review the DVD for Idiocracy for the school paper, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get it in time from Netflix. So now I’m thinking I’ll do Arthur and the Invisibles, it comes out in theaters tomorrow. I think I’ll get the books it’s based on too so I can compare a little.
