Pain
If you don’t already know, I have rheumatoid arthritis. It’s really been bothering me this week. I also tend to clench my teeth when I’m a bit stressed, so my mouth has been hurting this week too. Not fun.
I’m tired, I need to go to bed.
This Thursday we watched Goodfellas in class, they seemed to like that. I guess they like movies with no real meaning to them, don’t want to have to use their brains much. (I’m not saying Goodfellas is a bad movie, I like it too).
Ask me for my number already! Or something…
New
I should be writing my mass communications paper right now, but I’m not. It was supposed to be due this coming Wednesday, but school is closed for Thanksgiving, so now it’s due on Monday, yes, Monday. I currently have one (rough) paragraph, which I just wrote two minutes ago.
In this technology age, flocks of people are now turning to the internet as their main news source. For many, the internet is their link to the outside world. While online journalism is still a new media, the number of people who subscribe to a print newspaper is continuing to drop, which causes the industry leaders to wonder if newspapers, at least in their print form, are becoming a thing of the past.
But the first paragraph is always the hardest, so at least that’s out of the way. Waiting until a couple days before to actually start the writing isn’t unusual for me anyway. I spend most of my time researching and making notes. I did think I’d be further along by now though.
I started my new job on Tuesday. I don’t remember if I ever said what it really was, so I will now. I do retail merchandising for the jewelry and trading cards at one of the local Target stores. It’s mostly putting up new stock and straightening and making note if more product needs to be ordered. It’s too early to tell if I like it yet, I still feel confused right now. Every time I get a new job there’s a amount of time at the beginning where I just constantly feel like I’m going to do something wrong. I’m definitely in that zone right now.
This job takes less than ten hours of my time every week, but right now I’m unsure if I’ll be able to do it next semester because I’m going to be taking five classes, instead of three. It will be easier to tell once I get adjusted to it.
/End boring stuff.
Right at this moment I’m listening to a band called Horse Feathers, I just listened to the entire album for the first time last night and I can already tell they are a new favorite. It’s beautiful really. Maybe something like Rocky Votolato mets Castanets, yeah, that’s a good description. Someone on Last.fm compared them to Iron & Wine, but I don’t like Iron & Wine.
So,
Horse Feathers – Words Are Dead

If it has repeat listening capabilities it will receive the much sought after 5th star!
Other sounds as of late:
Brandtson – Hello, Control

(and a half).
Lior – Autumn Flow

Ned Collette – Jokes & Trials
The Polyphonic Spree – Wait EP

Things
I heard that the local air force base is trying to get a paper signed from our city allowing them to test a new, loud, aircraft in the area. The paper is also removing them from liability should windows be broken or property damaged. I think that’s horrible. Why should I have to pay for broken windows that they know is their fault? Enough of my money goes to the government already, I’m not going to pay them to destroy my property. I can only hope this is refused.
I received my Sambo’s coffee cup in the mail today.
Unfortunately I don’t think it’s just like the one that was broken. If the person who had broken it didn’t dispose of the evidence I could check, but I think the script on the bottom was different, this one just says USA, while I think the other may have said Corning&Co or ceramic or something, I could be wrong, it’s happened once before.
Slightly Stressed
I’m slightly stressed today, slightly stressed is okay, it’s better than how stressed I was a couple weeks ago. Actually when I’m slightly stressed I clean everything, so that’s a high point of it. I need to come up with a topic for my mass communications paper, I should have already chose one. I wanted to do something about people turning to the internet as their main news source, and just wanting to know the gist of things. However, I’ve having a hard time finding sources for that, local libraries don’t have any of the books; the only sources I’ve found are online ones coincidentally enough. I need to check with my teacher to see if it’s okay to only use online sources. If not I could always do it on how TV violence affects children, there’s plenty of sources on that, I just don’t want to do something that everyone else is doing. Or I could do something about blogs, I haven’t thought much about that one. But I need to make a decision quick.
I also really wish this huge zit on my cheek would go away, and the one on my forehead. I guess I’m getting paid back for having virtually flawless skin in middle and high school.
Why is it that no stores here sell lamps. Okay well, stores sell lamps. Wal-mart has lamps, they’re all horrific. Home Depot and Lowe’s have lamps. But why does Bed, Bath, and Beyond not have lamps? They have cute lamps on their website. This was actually the first time I’ve been to the local BB&B, and I have to say it’s the smallest one I’ve ever seen. I need a lamp people! Oh, and a bookcase, agh! I won’t even get started on that one.
